Stitch Fix – November 2015 Review

The one where I kept nothing!

Stitch Fix is a clothing/accessory subscription box which sends you items based on an extensive questionnaire. They include a prepaid envelope to return the items you don’t like, and they offer a 25% discount if you keep everything. It is supposed to get better with time, but…

My favorite part of the box was opening the lovely packages.

I got this shirt which was the exact length I asked Stitch Fix to avoid. The exact length.

And maybe it is just me because I worked in retail for entirely too long, but I really want my embroidery to line up.

I also got this dress. It is supposed to be fit and flare, but it just hangs on me like it hangs on the hanger. I really don’t like to accent my hips, so this wasn’t a good match for me. I asked for a dress for my husband’s Christmas party, but nothing about this says festive to me.

Because my shirt might of felt left out if it was the only thing to hit me at that awkward mid-hip length, I also got this cardigan. I don’t actually mind this cardigan all that much, and I might of even kept it, but it has a stain. I also got these skinnies which I requested. I wanted to love them, but they were so stiff and unstretchy, I just couldn’t say yes for $88.00.

Last month, I said I liked simple jewelry, and I guess these are simple, but they reach my shoulders, so they too, are a no.

To keep this whole box would be $224.50, but I’m pretty sure I could have better quality at Old Navy for under $100.00.

I though my stylist’s note was cute, and I see that she tried to get me skinnies and a dress that I might like, but nonetheless, this was a bust, and I cancelled my future Stitch Fixes. That said, I have worn my jeans from last month nearly every day, so the stylist magic does exist.

I live in Utah with my carnivorous husband, three swell daughters, and two semi-trained dogs at the base of some of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Sometimes I write for money, but usually I just play Candy Crush.

I am a vegan, homeschooling mom who might be a tad obsessed with subscription boxes. My infatuation is evidenced by my uncanny ability to recognize the sound of my mail carrier’s truck engine. I’d like to say don’t judge me, but if I were you, I’d judge me. I love vegan/eco-friendly, literary and thoughtfully curated boxes.
