Ah my first Glossybox. For so long I have avoided this box for no rational reason, but when the spoilers were released earlier this month I knew I just had to have it.
Glossybox
21$ Per Month – Free Shipping!
Ships whenever the hell it feels like
Glossybox is classically known for two things; it’s beautiful packaging, and ridiculous shipping times. Seriously, this box will sometimes show up very early, or not until well into the next month. Ridiculous shipping is just synonymous with Glossybox.
Glossybox is one of the earlier (in terms of age) monthly beauty boxes, focusing much more on “high end” cosmetics and brands. These boxes tend to lean a little skincare heavy and thanks to my copious K-Beauty addiction I have no need to venture back to the mainland for my skincare regime needs. I picked up this particular box for a couple of reasons; it’s gorgeous, and it had items I’d actually use, woo!
Each Glossybox comes with a fold out, front and back info card that’s infinitely better quality than I have posted here. I think we can all agree that I’m just terrible at taking photos of info cards.
Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara – 22$
This product literally paid for the box itself. I haven’t opened it because I have about 4 other mascaras open and another 42 in the queue, but this is getting excellent reviews and it’s 100% cruelty-free. I love that it’s hypoallergenic too as I’m finding that every single damn thing in existence is giving me some sort of allergy lately. I’m moving this one up to next in line.
Unwash Bio-Cleansing Conditioner – 36$
This is a bit of a neat thing – it’s an all in one hair treatment that replaces your shampoo and conditioner. It doesn’t seem to do much in the way of lathering and while I found my hair was clean, I felt it wasn’t nearly as shiny or soft as it would have been had I stuck to my regular routine. I do really like the smell and consistency though, so I’ll use it up, but at 36$ I don’t know that I’d keep it in stock.
Julep – Heartleigh – 14$
My first Julep polish. I know, I know, box blogger has never had a julep polish/box before? BLASHPHEMER. Anywho, this is a very February appropriate glitter topcoat, full of hearts (stars and horseshoes), and tons of glitter of all shapes and sizes.
Royal Apothic Tinted Lip Butter – Pink – 14$
This is such a beautifully packaged little gloss. It’s also an incredibly tiny amount of product, but I digress. There’s something so middle-eastern about the packaging of this gloss that it’s just gorgeous. The color is very subtle, and quite hydrating.
Rituals Cosmetics Foaming Shower Gel – Yogi Flow – 15$
This is an amazing thing. It comes out as a gel and starts turning into a foam as it hits water and it smells almost Arabian… not gonna lie, I legit felt like Jasmine for a minute. I totally want the rest of the line.
I thought this was an excellent first box for my first run with Glossybox. I actually aptly received this box on Valentine’s Day too, but yeah, Glossybox won’t always arrive at the best times. I’m going to stick with Glossybox for a month or two; generally they’re very highly praised from other bloggers so I’m hoping my trust isn’t wasted. This box had a value just over 100$ and I only paid 21$, so I’m pretty thrilled with that, and I got a cute box to display.
If you’re interested in Glossybox, they’re 21$ per month and you can get the March box by clicking here.

I love the packaging on the Royal Apothic lip butter! So cute.
Isn’t it!? It’s very beautiful to display :D
The cleansing conditioner is an interesting idea, though I wonder if it’s just a fancy rebrand of your standard 2 in 1 product. My hairdresser did recommend just using conditioner once or twice a week to get rid of frizz so maybe it will take effect in the long run?
And how’s the nail varnish? Not heard great things about Julep.
I thought that too, it definitely seemed a bit too expensive for what could be called a 2 in 1. I always use conditioner when I shower so I guess that’s why I didn’t really notice any sort of vast difference besides dullness
And the Julep seems okay, it’s a cute, well working little topcoat. I’ve heard bad things about Julep polishes too, like that they chip after a day and are streaky. So far this hasn’t done either, but I don’t have any of their actual polishes to compare it to :<
I really…really want this box. I’ve always heard of Glossybox, but I never thought much about it until I read your post. I’m debating to pick up another subscription and was SORTA thinking about Ipsy since it’s the other super popular one. But I think I might give Glossybox a go instead. What do you think? I need your guidance!
Eeek, this was my first month with Glossybox so I’m a bit hesitant to recommend them as they’ve not been too stellar in the past, but ipsy has been steadily declining lately… I’d almost recommend ipsy because the price is easier to deal with and you do get more makeup items whereas glossy you get much more skin/body care.
Thanks for your input! I think I’ll go with Ipsy…if their stuff sucks, I can get a funny post out of it at least, right? Will you be doing more post on glossy? I’ll keep tabs on it here for sure if you are!
Definitely, I’m gonna stay subscribed for a bit, Im not entirely sure how long but for a month or two at least. Our ipsy posts are incredibly snarky, mostly because they’re written by my co-blogger, but ipsy is always a snark magnet. I look forward to your funny postings ;D
