This is a review of April 2019’s box. Above picture shows everything in this month’s box.

Wyldflower Labs Lip Mask ($9) – It contains hyaluronic acid, alkanet root, castor and almond oils, and vitamin E for hydration and healing dry and chapped skin. I have been pretty obsessed with lip treatments for the past couple of years, so I’m always on the hunt for a good lip mask. The texture of this one is balm-like, but it goes on like an oil. It barely has any scent, which I like. I find it best to use at night as an overnight lip mask rather than during the day, especially in hot California summer days when I’d find it a bit too greasy. I like how nourished and soft it makes my lips feel. My only minor issue is that the container was not completely sealed. If you put it on its side there will be oils leaking through the lid.

Seraphine Botanicals Sahara + Glow Cactus Flower Illuminator ($14) – It contains olive and prickly pear oils and oregano, lavender, and rosemary extracts for soothing, hydrating, and protecting skin while providing color. I have always loved Seraphine Botanicals’ packing and the quality of their makeup items. I was expecting this one to be an illuminating blush based on the look of the color of the pen, but I think you can see from my swatches below that, on my skin, it’s more of a brightening bronzer, which I like because I’m not big on blushes, but I sometimes contour my face with bronzers. The color is very soft, buildable, and blendable. I love that the formula is moisturizing.

Peony Lips of an Angel Matte Lipstick ($16) – It comes in two colors. This one appears to be Stockings, the orange color. It includes carnation, chamomile, and water lily extracts for soothing, repairing, and hydrating. If you’ve been following me on Instagram or my blog, you probably know that I’m a #lipstickjunkie, and lip crayons are my favorite. I’m also a coral color fanatic, so I was extremely excited when I received this coral/orange-y color out of the two colors. The color goes on smoothly and the finish is definitely matte. As you can see in my swatch below (one coat), the color is very pigmented even with a single coat. It can definitely stay on the lips for a whole day and you will need an oil- or balm-based makeup remover to remove it. The color is a bit too orange compared to what I usually wear, but I’ll definitely use it on special occasions. I also love that it’s not drying like a lot of matte lipsticks.

Dia Naturals Organic Orange-Aloe Face and Body Mud Masque ($15) – It contains indian fuller’s earth, aloe vera, orange peels, and rose petals for healing, cleansing, and nourishing. Although I’m mostly a little too lazy for clay masks and wash-off masks, I like the powdered ones because they’re so light and easy to carry around when traveling. It took me a little bit of trial and error to figure out the optimal ratio of water to powder for my skin (yes, I’m a nerd). I found that it doesn’t take a lot of water to make a good consistency of this mask. It goes on pretty thin as you can see in my swatch photo, and you can also probably see the small particles that I assume are for exfoliation. I like that the mask is unscented and the exfoliation is really gentle. I like how smooth and clean it makes my skin feel after rinsing. You will definitely want to pair this with some moisturizing product in your later skincare routine steps.

Overall, I really like the curation of this month’s Nourish Beauty Box. I love the mix of half makeup and half skincare products and my favorite item is the Seraphine Botanicals illuminator.
