YumeTwins is a kawaii goods box shipped worldwide from Tokyo! Each box includes 6 to 8 cute licensed items from popular Japanese brands. They include a variety of things, like plushies, stationary, and squishies. They focus on curating a selection of unique and quality goods around a monthly theme.
There is both a physical booklet and a digital zine (accessible on their website). Both include information on the items, contests, community photos, the Yume Prize, and cultural topics. For June 2018 the theme is “Cinnamoment.” The box is themed around the Sanrio plush this month, Cinnamoroll, and memories. This month has a pastel summery vibe going on too! There are 6 items in this month’s box.
(Everything comes packaged in plastic to keep it clean/safe, I take everything out of the packaging to get a better photo!)
Cinnamoroll Roll Plushie
This is the last plushie in their trio of Sanrio characters! The previous two months included a My Melody and a Pompompurin plushie, and this month is Cinnamoroll! It’s a “roll” plushie, so it’s kind of a rounded cylinder shape. You can stack it with the other plushies to make a cute lil’ pyramid or use it as a small pillow. Cinnamoroll is one of my favorite Sanrio characters. He’s a white puppy with a cinnamon roll-shaped tail.
Shining Clear Case
This clear box comes in 7 possible designs, and I received a blue Sumikko Gurashi design! It has a lot of beveled diamond shapes in the plastic, making the box seem to sparkle. It snaps shut, and is large enough for accessories, jewelry, knickknacks, etc. I’m using mine for all my hair accessories!
Ice Cream Kuritaro Puffy Stickers
These puffy stickers are all themed around ice cream treats from the Ice Cream Kuritaro series. Some of them have gem accents, and they all have a little bit of a sweet smell. They’re quite puffy, and the designs are perfect for the warmer weather in June.
Water Manju Squishy
This month’s squishy is a little different than normal. It’s not a foam squishy on a keychain, but a translucent rubbery squishy! Since you get a squishy every month, it’s nice when they switch it up a little bit. This squishy is designed like a water manju dessert. It’s a blind box, meaning you don’t know which style you’re going to get until you open it. I got the clear white bear design—it’s so cute and fun to squish!
Rilakkuma Fragrance Clip
This little clip is designed to look like one of the characters from the popular Rilakkuma series. I got the little yellow bird character “Kiiroitori.” The clips have a faint honey lemon smell as well! It’s designed to be used more like a paper clip rather than for bags of snacks.
3 Piece Animal Food Clip Set
The last item is a set of three food clips. They’re designed to look like animals, with a panda, a bear, and a pig clip included. You press on the top of the clip to release the bar, then snap it back together to keep snack bags shut. They’re also little moveable arrows on the sides of each clip so you can keep track of when your food expires.
All and all, this month’s theme was very creative. I liked the general pastel-summer aesthetic of this month’s box! My favorite items were the Shining Clear Case and the Ice Cream Kuritaro Puffy Stickers. It’s nice that they include such a variety of items each month, aside from their monthly plush and squishy. You always get a least a few practical, everyday items from YumeTwins, which I really appreciate.
If you’d like to subscribe, you can do so here. It’s $35 per month with free international shipping. Keep an eye on the YumeTwins website and for teasers about the next box. I’m excited to see what July’s theme will be! Maybe a summer fruit theme, like watermelon?
