This is a review of October’s box.

Everything in this month’s Zakka Kit.  This month’s theme is Cats.

Kitten Washi Paper by Classiky x Ugyokusha – Each of these has 24 wood block print sheets.  These are crafted in Japan by the world-famous zakka brand Classiky.  I love wood block prints very much and I think this are definitely a special washi paper that is perfect for writing gift notes.

The paper removed from the bundle.

Maneki Neko Mini Envelope by Pinup Japan – Maneki Neko represents good luck and good fortune in Japanese culture.  I love how detailed the print is on this mini envelope and I think it’s perfect as a “red envelope”.

Tokyo Cat Print by Neko Box – This print is exclusively illustrated by Neko Box designers.  It’s designed and printed in Tokyo using special Japanese paper.  I love these Tokyo street car poses.

Back of the envelope.

Cat Schedule Stickers by Seal Do x Shinzi Katoh – Shinzi Katoh is a famous Zakka designer.  I don’t use a planner much anymore, but these are definitely going onto my calendars, gift notes, and electronics.

Sleeping Cat Stickers by Classiky x Mihoko Seki – Cat stickers and vintage style just make everything perfect.  This is a collaboration between Japanese lifestyle brand Classiky and Mihoko Seki, a kimono pattern designer based in Kyoto.  I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned that I love Japanese textured paper, but I love Japanese textured paper.

They also included a couple of loose kawaii cat stickers.

Colored Marker by Tombow – At first I didn’t think this marker was that special, but it’s actually designed by a classic Japanese stationery brand and it comes with 12 beautiful colors.  I’m so glad I got this pink coral color.  See the next picture for swatches.

Bean Cat Washi Tape by Seal Do x Shinzi Katoh – Washi tapes are one of my favorite stationery items.  I love the Japanese textured paper with all those cute bean cat (“Mame Neko”) designs.

Overall, I love the very first Zakka Kit from Neko Box.  I’ve always been a big fan of Neko Box’s curation for their regular box, and I’m so happy that they decided to do a stationery subscription box.  Cats are probably my favorite animal ever, so the October theme is perfect for me.  I love that they curated this box with famous classic Japanese brands and designers’ work.  At $20, this box is on the pricier side for a stationery subscription box; however, I think that this is a very special stationery box because everything comes straight from Japan and it’s an experience of Japan in a little box.
