Geek Fuel is a geek & gamer themed subscription box that always contains a new exclusive t-shirt (both men’s and women’s sizes available S-3XL) and a Steam code, as well as a wide variety of other fun goodies (toothbrush holders, figures, gummy candies).

WHY HELLO THERE, LARGE UNNERVING SET OF EYES STARING RIGHT AT ME.

This month’s box features five items, 6 if you count each mug as a separate item. None of them feel like filler items, which is nice.

The eyes that were glaring at me when I opened the box apparently belong to Bender.

Doesn’t the next Guardians of the Galaxy come out in May?? I guess it’s not too early to get hyped.

$400 Rivendell statue? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY.

I’m not gonna lie, that Spider-Man light is terrifying. It looks like someone smashed the poor guy’s head through a wall. Yeesh. I’m also getting HERE’S JOHNNY vibes from it.

I can see that Tetris version of Connect 4 ending many a friendship.

Nope, this isn’t an actual cassette (Am I the only person who still owns a cassette player?) featuring music from Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s a box containing a rather unusual item…

It’s a “pair and a spare” of GotG socks. That’s right, three socks. These are fun if you like to mix and match your socks. Two of them feature the angriest Rocket Raccoon I have ever seen.

The third sock has Groot on it! Given how cold it’s been lately, I’m very glad to get some nice warm socks.

Geek Fuel’s mascot Fuel returns in pin form this month! This time, Fuel is cosplaying as Indiana Jones. The rare variant of this pin has Fuel holding an artifact rather than a bag. I did get a chuckle out of seeing both “Adult Collectible” and “Ages 10 and up” on the packaging. Speaking of the packaging, I was very pleased to see that this did not implode under its own weight like the figurine did with its very similar packaging last month.

This month’s featured game is Dandy: Or a Brief Glimpse Into the Life of the Candy Alchemist. Dandy is a roguelike shmup that features item pickups a bit reminiscent of The Binding of Isaac (one day I will stop comparing every single rouguelike to Isaac. Today is not that day). In this game you play as the titular candy alchemist and fly through the skies on a lollipop while shooting candy at sea creatures(???). It’s fun and cute, and the randomized pickups prevent the game from becoming stale too quickly.

Instead of getting one of two possible mugs, Geek Fuel just said screw it and gave you both. I approve. These colorful mugs have a retro feel, and make a great set.

You could technically give them away as a very nice his and hers gift, but potential gift recipients will have to pry these out of my cold dead hands. I’m keeping them both.

GAH! STOP GLARING AT ME ALREADY! This month’s awesome shirt design is features everyone’s favorite ill-mannered alcohol-fueled robot, Bender. I miss Futurama… :(

This was probably my favorite Geek Fuel box this year, as I’ll use and enjoy every single item in it. The fandoms were varied, and there was nothing in the box that felt remotely like filler. I’m going to predict next month’s box to feature approximately 8000 Star Wars items, but I’ll be pleasantly surprised if I’m wrong. Yes, I am the only person to not care about Star Wars. Come at me, bro.
