Pura Vida Monthly Club – August 2016 Review

Pura Vida Monthly Club is a monthly bracelet subscription box.  It costs $14.95/month and includes 3 bracelets with a retail value of up to $50 chosen from Pura Vida’s new collection and/or most popular styles.  Shipping is free within the US.

Pura Vida was founded by two friends from Southern California after visiting Costa Rica.  All of the bracelets are handcrafted by Costa Rican artisans.  Pura Vida uses a portion of their profits to support the artisans and also donates to several charities.  You can read more on their website.

This is a review of August’s Pura Vida Monthly Club box.

I have been a Pura Vida bracelet collector for a while, so I was really excited to see that they launched a subscription box.

Everything in this month’s Pura Vida Monthly Club box.

The cards and stickers came in this beautiful sleeve.  That’s their style.  I remember that every shop order came in a beautiful envelope.

These cards describe Pura Vida’s support for local artisans and charities.  They also included a Pura Vida Bracelets sticker.  They changed the sticker’s design, but I really love it.

These are the bracelets in this month’s box.

Rose Gold Hamsa Vanilla ($14) – This is from one of their new collections.  Although I wanted the turtle one badly, I still love this one.  A Pura Vida bracelet with a hamsa charm?  Yes!!

Our new “Hamsa Charm” symbolizes happiness, luck, health, and good fortune. Available in gold, rose gold, and matte black finishes with 5 different string colors to choose from. Stack it with other bracelets or wear it alone. This bracelet will be a great addition to your Pura Vida collection!

Seed Bead Neon Indian ($24) – This is my favorite bracelet out of the three this month.  I really like the colors, and I think this one can be worn alone or stacked with other Pura Vida bracelets.

Over 2 hours of hard work goes into making each Seed Bead Bracelet as they are all hand strung and carefully woven by our team of artisans in Costa Rica. Each bracelet in the Seed Bead Collection looks perfect worn alone or stacked with what’s already on your wrist. Simple and dainty, they’re sure to be your new fav!

Beach Life ($5) – I own their Good Vibes bracelet which is similar but not identical to this one.  I love that their bracelets are waterproof so you can actually wear this to have your “beach life”.  The design is simple but it’s pretty.

Every bracelet is 100% waterproof. Go surf, snowboard, or even take a shower with them on. Wearing your bracelets every day only enhances the natural look and feel. Every bracelet is unique and hand-made therefore a slight variation in color combination may occur.

Here’s a picture of my whole Pura Vida bracelet collection so far.

Overall, I really like this month’s Pura Vida Monthly Club box.  The value comes out to $43.  I think it’s great for what I paid.  I get to own something from their new collection every month.  I actually heard of Pura Vida Bracelets from Birchbox which used to send a Pura Vida headband as a free gift.  I’ve been hooked since then and I’m really happy that they decided to do a subscription box.
