It’ssssss pink bag time!

My Ipsy bag got here much quicker than I expected. Typically when stuff gets sent from DHL then transferred to the post office it’s lost in the abyss until some poor postal soul decides to go fetch it a few days after receipt.  My tracking didn’t update for several days, and I didn’t get the shipping e-mail until after it had been in the DHL system for a couple days. Ah well, it’s here!

Forgive the weird lighting, it’s apparently a cardinal sin to turn a lamp on in this house when it’s sunny outside.

This months theme was “Beauty Rocks!” so everything had a central rocker theme. I love the bag! Did I mention this is my very first Ipsy? It’s my very first Ipsy.

Included in this bag is the following:

Lollitint by Benefit – Candy Orchid
KISS Looks So Natural Lashes
City Color White Gold Shadow & Highlight Mousse
Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm – Acid Pink
Urban Decay Glide on Eye Pencil – Black Velvet

Something you may notice on the Ipsy facebook page is that there’s a rather large following for the Benefit Lollitint – and I have to agree, it’s wonderful! It’s a little bit of an odd color for me though!

I know I personally wont use the eye pencil or the lashes, simply for the whole “I have no clue how to use these things” exception, but overall I love this bag. I can’t wait for May!

A note about the Cailyn lip balm; it’s incredibly highly pigmented, and the top is a brush! I had a friend ask me “Why does a lip balm need a brush?” my only logical answer was that this particular lip balm is so bright that you will end up putting much more on than intended.

The lollitint goes on like a paintbrush. It’s much more subtle than the Cailyn, but both are similar colors (complementary really). The Cailyn is more of a pink/purple, and the Lollitint is closer to a pale orchid/pink.

Ipsy is a service that always aims to please, and there’s several different variations on bags. Overall it’s a great value. These bags are always worth more than what you paid ($10 a month), and will introduce you to brands and colors you may have not tried before.
