For this subscription box review, I will be reviewing box 4 of the On the Run series. Each box contains multiple physical clues to guide you in solving your mystery. You’ll have plenty to work on while waiting for your next box. Each month following, you’ll receive an additional box with more items to further submerse you in the story. There are seven boxes total for the On the Run story.
Up until this box we have followed James’ story out of Hawaii, Chile, and Japan. It appears that our good friend James has made his way to Australia, the ‘down under’.
The card below outlines the items enclosed in Box 4:
The image below includes a snap shot of the UV Light with Note, Playing Cards, and Red Marker.
I cannot begin to express my excitement in discovering that there is a black light to encode HIDDEN MESSAGES. I REPEAT, BLACKLIGHT TO ENCODE HIDDEN MESSAGES! How fun is that? It’s great when you stumble upon them, too.
There was a movie ticket (James has always had questionable taste in films):
A series of sheets and envelopes:
And a fun typographical map to color in!
As you can see, the box contained and introduced several playful elements, from coloring in a map to hunting for black light messages. Overall, this box was a lot quicker to complete than the last. It involves use of tools from previous boxes, including the cipher and internet available features. My husband and I always have a blast trying to decode and solve this mystery. I cannot wait to see what is in store next! On to Box 5!!!
This box is a PR sample. No compensation was received. All opinions are my own.
