This is a review of May 2018’s box.

It comes in this little cardboard box with cute prints.

Peony Rosebud-Infused Vegan Face & Hair Oil ($35) – Rose is one of my favorite ingredients in my skincare. This oil is made with Safflower, Rapeseed, Rice Bran, and Sweet Almond oils that help soften and calm skin, foster healthy, glowing hair and, create a protective barrier. It is infused with real rosebuds inside each bottle. The oil has a very intense rose scent. It takes a while to get absorbed into my skin, but once it’s absorbed, my skin feels moisturized without tackiness. It smells good too! I actually didn’t try it on my hair since my hair doesn’t take oil-based products too well.

Look at the rosebuds inside the bottle!

Seraphine Botanicals Sugar + Lemon Moisturizing Lip Buffer ($24) – This is my first time trying skincare products from Seraphine Botanicals, but I’m already falling in love with their pretty packaging. It is made with Avocado, Apricot and Jojoba oils as well as Shea and Cocoa Butter to help rejuvenate and hydrate dry lips. “A blend of soft sugar crystals within a rich, nourishing salve base that gently exfoliates and buffs lips, leaving behind smoother skin with a touch of refreshing Lemon Zest scent.” I absolutely love the sweet lemon scent. The sugar crystals exfoliate my lips gently and leave it soft and smooth afterwards.

Nourish Nails – Live Fully ($12.5) – Each month’s box includes a Nourish Beauty Brand nail polish. This is a water-based nail polish. It is formulated without organic solvents and harmful ingredients. Being in a biochem major for so many years, I know what those organic solvents in most nail polishes can do other than just smelling bad. The polish doesn’t have much of a scent. It is very watery, so, it takes some patience to apply it layer by layer since the color is also very sheer. Live Fully is a bright mint color which I don’t wear often, but I love how it turned out after three coats. The color does chip off through time, but I can peel it off in one piece mostly, which I like.

Seraphine Botanicals Lychee + Gold Healthy Glow Rose-Gold Blush ($14) – The second Seraphine Botanicals item in this box. I was intrigued by the Lychee + Gold name right away. It is made with micro gold frosting and infused with Lychee & Chamomile extracts for a subtle blushed luminosity, radiance and hydration. Ginger, Lychee, Mangosteen, and Chamomile all in one blush?! I’m in love already! I’m not a huge blush person, but I do love a sheer and subtle cheek color like this one! I only wish it could smell like the ingredients lol.

Top: one coat; bottom: two coats.

IYOU Avocado Face Mask ($2) – Hello? A sheetmask for #sheetmaskjunkie?! Yes, please! I’ve seen IYOU brand on social media, but I had never tried their masks before. I like the simple but cute packaging. It contains Avocado which is rich in vitamins, folic acid, magnesium, potassium, and sulfuric acid. As much as I love Avocados in my food, I like it in my skincare products as well. The mask came out the packaging soaked with creamy essence. It has a strong floral scent probably due to the several flower extracts on the ingredient list. The fit and attachment were pretty good for a thicker cotton type of mask. My face felt moisturized and soft after 25mins. No tackiness detected. It’s such a great everyday mask. You probably noticed my happy #sheetfaced dance on Instagram the other day with this mask on.

Overall, I loved my first Nourish Beauty Box. I do think it is on the pricier side compared to many beauty subscriptions, but you can’t beat a paraben-free and 100% vegan box! My impression of “all natural and healthy” beauty products was stuck on over-simplified packaging and weird smells from my previous experience, but this box has changed that completely. I also love the various product choices mixing makeup and skincare in this box.
