My box was shipped on the 6th of March and arrived on the 9th.

As usual, there is a delightful treat from Sweet.Bookie.Cookie, only this month’s has an LGBT theme to it!

Here’s a closer look at the charms – there’s a little kangaroo, shooting star and ‘believe in love’ message, aww.

The single greatest most creative item I’ve ever received in a box – a crocheted cock bookmark! This was a collaboration between Kristy’s Kreative Nook & the adorably named Well, I’ll Be Darned. I can’t get over this, it’s so freaking unexpected and hilarious! :)

The first of the 3 books in this box actually contains two stories: Accidental Alpha & Belligerent Beta by Poppy Dennison ($22.97 AUD).

Accidental Alpha
A quiet life. A break from the dangers of being a cop. Yep, Lex Tompkins has his future all worked out. That is, until fate-or rather the stray toddler from the house across the street-bites those plans in the ass. Well, technically Lex’s neck. Suddenly, he’s transformed into the Alpha of the secret werewolf clan hiding in the perfect, out of the way neighborhood of Lex’s dreams. Now Lex is the unlikely leader of a dysfunctional pack… except for Spencer Robinson, the one shifter Lex can’t seem to keep his paws off. Will Spencer be able to teach Lex how to embrace who he has truly become? Because accidents happen…but fate marks its own territory.

Belligerent Beta
When a human is chosen to lead the pack instead of him, Beta Dan Keller struggles to find his footing in a rapidly changing environment. Committed to his pack and not one to turn away from a challenge, Dan follows his Alpha’s request and works with Nathan Ross, the new pack Omega. Though he is initially concerned that Nathan’s weakness will harm the pack, Dan learns there is more to the shy wolf than meets the eye. As Dan struggles to balance his growing feelings for the young wolf with his responsibilities to his pack, new threats emerge and Nathan’s loyalty is questioned. Not understanding the basics of being a wolf leaves Nathan vulnerable and the pack at risk. Can Dan embrace the true role of a beta so he can protect the man he has grown to love and save his pack?

The second book is Forever You by Laura N. Andrews ($16.23 AUD).

Matthew Price travels across the country to join his twin sister in Brooklyn. As an openly gay man who appreciates casual flings, the last thing he expects is to meet the man of his dreams.

Benjamin Stokes has always considered himself straight. When he hires Matthew to work at his garage and finds himself captivated, his sexuality comes into question.

From the moment they meet, their sexual desires grow fierce. Will they discover a deeper connection than just the physical? Can theirs be a love story that will last forever?

I’m really intrigued by this one, I haven’t come across too many stories with adults who are still determining their sexual orientation, it’s usually the teens who struggle with that. Iiiinteresting!

The final physical book is Rustic Melody by Nic Star ($17.60 AUD)

Adam Chambers has never seen eye-to-eye with his father and is reluctant to take over the family’s property-development company. To clear his head and work out what he wants to do with the rest of his life, Adam leaves his responsibilities in the city and heads out to see the country.

He isn’t much closer to deciding what to do with his life when he arrives at one of Australia’s largest events, the Tamworth Country Music Festival, and meets Joey Callaway.

Since Joey’s father’s tragic death left Joey the family’s debt-ridden pub, Joey has struggled, desperate to turn the business around and give his mum the life she deserves. A break away from the pressures of running the pub is just what he needs, and a hook-up with Adam is the perfect way to forget about his troubles.

The one-night stand might just be an opening act. If Adam and Joey can follow the music in their hearts, perhaps they can heal each other and create a melody that will last a lifetime.

This one came signed by the author with a sweet message! <3

An overwhelming amount of e-books were also included this month!

There’s too gosh-darn many titles to include summaries for all of them, so I’ll just link to goodreads and if you’re interested, check them out!

1. Married For A Month by Cate Ashwood ($5.19 AUD)

2. Love You, Moore by Alex Miska ($3.99 AUD)

3. Out Of Order by Casey Lawrence ($7.32 AUD) features bisexual female protagonist

4. Reasons To Love A Nerd Like Me by Becky Jerams ($5.99 AUD)

5. A Twist And Two Balls by Clare London ($4.16 AUD)

6. Luke & Aiden by Susan Reeves ($4.02 AUD)

7. Where No One Knows by Jo Ramsey ($9.19 AUD) features trans protagonist

8. Bought by R Phoenix ($1.32 AUD)

9. Rented Heart by Garrett Leigh ($9.30 AUD)

10. Rogue Soldier by Jamie Lynn Miller ($3.99 AUD)

11. Finding Release by Silvia Violet ($4.03 AUD)

12. Sex And Candy by Nico Jaye ($2.59 AUD)

I love e-books, but another box had the more efficient method of allowing us to log into our account and download the epub files to load onto whichever device we used for reading instead of having to fiddle around with account settings. Amazon kindle isn’t the most user-friendly, unfortunately! However I do understand that this is the author’s way of protecting their work so that people can’t simply share it around and ensures that only the people who purchased this box are able to access their book.

These titles were available for download at the provided address.

1. Giuseppe And Me by Robin Reardon ($1.10 AUD)

2. Leave It All by April Kelley ($5.36 AUD)

3. Punch-Drunk Love by Nico Jaye (free)

4. You And A Billion Blue Tiles by Missy Welsh (free if you sign-up for the newsletter)

5. Say Yes by J R Gray (free)

6. The Frat Brat by Nico Jaye (free)

7. Memories Of The Heart by Felice Stevens (free)

8. BTW! I Love You by Nico Jaye ($1.05 AUD)

9. His True Nature by Silvia Violet (free)

The rare lesbian story, yesss!

Just Juliet by Charlotte Reagan ($3.99 AUD)

I already had this e-book, but I’m glad others get to enjoy some f/f romance in the midst of this gay mecca. ;)

Quality of Curation: I say this every month, but for a romance-based box, which you think might limit the selection, there is nonetheless a huge variety on offer. There’s contemporary romance and paranormal romance, teenage characters and adults, characters who are out or still determining their orientation, those who are out for casual hook-ups or for something more meaningful…

I do however have one nitpicky criticism – I wish there had been a bit more representation of the rest of the LGBT+ acronym, as 90% of the stories focused on gay men. However, the ebooks were generously donated by the authors, so BLMB had no say in the category of stories provided and as that is the most popular subgenre out there, I’m not surprised gay romance ended up dominating the box.

Worth It? This box above all others before it was DEFINITELY value for money! The three books came to $56.80 AUD, and all the e-books were a total of $72.59 AUD, so there was a value of over $100 for everything included!

Find Out More: You can find BLMB on Facebook and Instagram.

PR sample. All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
