Loot Crate is a monthly geek subscription box that often includes figurines, collectibles, and T-shirts. It costs $13.95 + $6 shipping per month, with discounts for longer subscriptions. Each month has a different theme. Every month, it comes in a black box with the Loot Crate logo that can be turned inside out and folded into something related to the theme. The size varies depending on what’s in the box. Each month, they send out a survey asking subscribers to rate each item and provide suggestions for future boxes. They also release digital content each month related to the theme, such as a mini-game, puzzle, or trivia.

This is a review of October’s Loot Crate.
Here are all the items in this month’s box. This month’s theme is Horror. This month’s box includes items from The Walking Dead, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Nightmare on Elm Street.
Each month’s box can be turned into something related to the theme. For most of the boxes, this process involved folding the box and/or turning it inside out. This month’s was a little bit different; the box had a zombie mask that you could cut out.
It included this strap to attach to the holes in the mask. It actually took me a while and I had to use scissors to cut the mask out.
Each box includes a magazine that includes descriptions of all of the items, as well as interviews with the Loot Crate staff and other things.
This Month’s Pin – The content “unlocked” by this pin is a free copy of Superfight ($10 retail). This is one of the better unlocks from Loot Crate because it can be played without buying anything else and it doesn’t require a huge time commitment to enjoy the game like some previous unlocks.
Pumpkins and William Shatner masks and knives, oh my! Tis the season to rep John Carpenter’s legendary classic.
Each month they release some digital content, including a small game that can be played on their website. This month’s game is a matching game called The 1-Stop Horror Shop.
Here’s the magazine opened to a random page.
Exclusive Legion of Regrettable Supervillains Book (Quirk) – I still have the League of Regrettable Superheroes book from last year. I do love that the book is hard-covered.
In over 80 years of comics, not every character is a winner. In fact, some of the villains are HORRIFYINGLY bad. Read all about them in the companion book to the Loot Crate exclusive League of Regrettable Superheroes.
Exclusive Leatherface Phunny Plush (New Line Cinema, KidRobot) – I got the “happy” version. Although I’m such a scaredy-cat for anything “horror”, I still think this plush is super cute (I’d still be happy if I received the other version of it.) and hey I actually know about Texas Chainsaw Massacre!!
We don’t recommend you walk up and hug Leatherface, the iconic “star” of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, if you should ever encounter him (it’ll be hard to get close anyway with him swinging his signature chainsaw around willy nilly). Instead, Loot Crate EXCLUSIVELY presents this adorable plush from KidRobot’s Phunny line. Let us know if you get the “happy” or “sad” version – there’s a 50% chance you get either!
Here’s the page about Seaweed Queen, one of many strange villains described in the book.
Exclusive AMC’s The Walking Dead Negan Sluggers T-Shirt (AMC, Loot Crate Inc.) – There seems to be nothing Loot Crate loves more than The Walking Dead. I’m not such a huge fan of it (although I even played the Xbox One game of it once), and this shirt is just average for me.
This original Loot Crate design is sure to be a homerun! AMC’s The Walking Dead returns Sunday, October 23 at 9/8c.
Exclusive Freddy Kreuger Chopsticks (New Line Cinema, Icup) – These are certainly the most unusual chopsticks I’ve seen in a subscription box yet lol. Okay, Freddy Kreuger might have caused many of my nightmares, but I actually really love these chopsticks! First of all, I like metal chopsticks a lot; And I love the rubber hand that connects the two sticks, which makes it harder to lose/drop one of the chopsticks. The soft rubber material does not affect usage at all.
Add a sprinkle of fright to your meal with these stainless steel chopsticks. Perfect for display or daily use, they’re the utensils of your dreams…
The chopsticks removed from their packaging.
Exclusive Camp Crystal Lake Pennant (Paramount, The Coop) – Even for someone who hasn’t seen the movies, this is a cool design. I’m not sure where I’m gonna put it though.
Ah, picturesque Camp Crystal Lake. Oh no, your commemorative pennant has a bit of red on it… uh, don’t mind that. Everything’s fine. Nothing to see here…
Overall, I actually like the curation of this month’s Lootcrate. Usually, horror/Halloween themed crates are my nightmares, but I actually really liked the selections of items in this box, especially for the type of items. My favorite items are the plush and the chopsticks.

Favorite things: All kawaii stuff, dresses, nail polish, jewelry, lifestyle items, glitter, heart-shaped things
Least favorite things: Boxes that lie about being completely customizable, food items in boxes that aren't food subscriptions
